In 2012, Dipendra of Simrik Real Nepal & Expeditions escorted me on a solo journey to Everest Base Camp and Mera Peak. This was my first time in Nepal, and I had a terrific trek thanks to Dipendra's expert advice. He is a terrific person to work with, and he is quite knowledgeable about his industry. Unfortunately, I was attacked by high altitude deseas one day before reaching Everest Base Camp, and we had to go back. From the moment I arrived in Kathmandu, Deependra greeted me warmly with a lei. He even returned to the airport the next day to meet my daughter after her delayed flight. Deependra meticulously handled every detail of the trek, ensuring a smooth experience. Accommodation quality varied, with excellent stays in Namche and average ones elsewhere. However, Gorakshep's facilities were disappointing, especially the unhygienic toilets. When I fell ill with fever and diarrhea, Deependra went above and beyond to care for me. The Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, offering breathtaking mountain views, rich culture, and thrilling experiences. From the warm airport welcome by Deependra and our guide Sagar to an insightful Kathmandu tour, everything was well-organized. The trek from Lukla to Phakding and beyond was filled with stunning landscapes, flowing rivers, and moderate daytime temperatures, though nights were chilly. Altitude sickness was well-managed by our guide with Diamox, ensuring a safe journey. After the trek, we explored Chitwan National Park, enjoying a jungle safari by canoe, jeep, and elephant. Despite missing out on Annapurna’s views in Pokhara, the hospitality and kindness of the locals made the trip unforgettable.
