From Kathmandu Fly to Paro by Druk Air, then after Drive to Thimphu. Simrik Real Nepal agents will greet you at Paro International Airport and take you to Thimphu. Visit Thang Tong Gyalpo's Tamchog Lhakhang, which was constructed in the 15th century. In the evening, head to Tashichho Dzong, the national government and central monastic body. The annual Thimphu Tshechu celebration takes place in the Dzong's courtyard in early September.

A full day of touring in Thimphu. The Tashichho Dzong, which serves as the seat of the Royal Government as well as the Monk Body and Chief Abbot's summer house, is seen. Visit the Handicrafts Emporium, which showcases and sells Bhutanese textiles and other artwork. Visit the Painting and Woodcraft School, which maintains traditional art and painting skills.Visit the Memorial Chorten, a large stupa built in memory of Bhutan's Third King, who ruled from 1952 to 1972. Visit the National Library, where old records are stored. Visit Simtokha Dzong (6 km from Thimphu), Bhutan's oldest Dzong, which was built in 1629 A.D. It housed Bhutan's largest monastic school.

Drive 76 kilometers from Thimphu to Punakha, which will take about 3 hours. In the morning, head to Punakha Valley. En route, visit the 108 stupas at Dochu La pass (3140 m). The Rhododendron Garden in Lam Pelri Park. Lama Drukpa Kuenley built Chimi Lhakhang, popularly known as the Temple of Fertility, in 1499. Afternoon tour of Punakha Dzong, established in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. This Dzong is beautifully situated between the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. In the evening, walk across Bhutan's largest suspension bridge, which spans the Pho Chu River (160 metres).

Drive 73 kilometers from Punakha to Gasa Hotspring, which takes roughly 3 hours. Navigate to Gasa. Hike to the stunning Kamsum Yulley shrine, set on a hilltop. A packed lunch will be served. Visit the Gasa Dzong, also known as Gasa Tashi Tongmön Dzong, which was erected in the 17th century by Tenzin Drukdra, the 2nd Druk Desi (Governor of Bhutan). Explore the picturesque Gasa village and meet the locals. In the evening, go to Gasa hotsprings.

Drive 73 kilometers from Gasa to Punakha in three hours. Morning: Visit Gasa hotspring and drive to Punakha. Afternoon: Visit the stunning Talo monastery. Explore Talo village and meet the locals.

Drive 132 kilometres from Punakha to Paro via Wangdue Phodrang in four hours. Drive to Paro from Wangdue Phodrang. A brief halt to observe the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong from outside. The Dzong was destroyed by fire in 2012.Paro's watch tower (Ta Dzong), erected in 1656, has been turned into Bhutan's national museum.Rinpung Dzong, erected in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, translates to "the heap of jewels".

Drive to Satsam Chorten, then walk to Tiger's Nest Monastery, a World Heritage Site. The hike takes four hours (round trip). One of the high points of our honeymoon in Bhutan. Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal built the Drugyel Dzong in the seventeenth century. Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples, was founded in the seventh century by Tibetan King Srongtsen Gampo. Visit a Bhutanese homestead.
