Start your day in Lobuche (4,910m) with an early breakfast and set out by 7:30 AM for one of the most iconic days on the Everest Base Camp Trek. The trail ascends gradually to Lobuche Pass (5,110m), revealing panoramic views of Pumori, Lingtren, and Khumbutse alongside the icy Khumbu Glacier.

After a steady trek through rugged moraines, reach Gorakshep (5,164m)—the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. Following lunch, continue your journey to the legendary Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Walk across glacial ridges and debris fields, with close-up views of the Khumbu Icefall and Everest’s western shoulder.

Standing at Base Camp, where climbers prepare to summit the world’s highest peak, is a profound and unforgettable experience. Though Everest’s peak is hidden, its power is palpable. After completing your Everest trek, you can return from Lukla to Kathmandu either by direct flight or via Ramechhap (Manthali). Option 1: Take a direct Lukla to Kathmandu flight, which takes about 30–35 minutes (weather permitting). Option 2: Fly from Lukla to Ramechhap Airport (Manthali). This short flight usually takes around 20 minutes. From Ramechhap, it’s a 5-hour drive to Kathmandu by jeep. Due to Kathmandu airport congestion, many Lukla flights now operate via Ramechhap, especially during peak trekking seasons. Always check your flight route in advance and plan your onward travel accordingly. This route is part of the popular Everest Base Camp trek itinerary, so staying informed helps ensure a smooth and stress free return journey.
