MUKTINATH DHAM DARSHAN: THE MUKTINATH TEMPLE OF SALVATION

Muktinath, which translates to "Lord of Salvation," is a revered site for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Each year, thousands of pilgrims visit Muktinath Dham in their quest for liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth. This sacred temple is located at the base of Khatang Kang in Baraha Gaun, which means "12 villages," in the Mustang district of north-central Nepal. The sanctum of Muktinath Dham is nestled among a grove of trees, which also houses a Buddhist Gompa and a Pagoda-style temple dedicated to Vishnu.

HOLY WATER POND AT MUKTINATH TEMPLE

Muktinath temple, also known to Hindus as Muktikshetra (Place of Liberation), is one of the four holy shrines. In front of the Muktinath temple, there are two sacred ponds, or kundas, which are used for ritual bathing. These ponds are believed to purify individuals from the effects of negative karma and harmful actions. Below Muktinath Dham is a Tibetan-style temple called Jwala Mai. Inside this temple, water flows from a rock, and there is also a flame of fire. The Jwala Mai temple features three eternal flames, which are said to have been ignited by the Creator.

MUKTINATH TEMPLE

There are several significant temples around Muktinath Dham, including Gomba Samba, Swaminarayan, and Shaligram. These temples are all associated with the Muktinath Dham pilgrimage and will be included in the itinerary for the Muktinath Dham tour. Muktinath Dham is an essential pilgrimage site for devotees, and visits can be arranged based on the duration of your tour and the destinations you wish to explore. Accommodations for visitors to Muktinath Dham are available at Dharmashalas, lodges, and hotels in Rani Pouwa.

Muktinath Dham is a sacred pilgrimage site located in the Mustang district of Nepal. It is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, attracting thousands of pilgrims annually. Known as a symbol of religious harmony, Muktinath Dham is nestled at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong-La Pass in the Himalayas.
